Meet Our Management Team

Robert E Croghan, Jr, CPA
Partner

Robert Croghan Jr, CPA, graduated from Missouri Southern State College in 1980, and joined Croghan & Croghan soon after graduating. He is a member of both the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) and the Missouri Society of Certified Public Accountants (MSCPA).

Bob is active within the local St Louis and surrounding communities. He serves his local Parish as a member of the finance council, Athletic Association Board and currently as the President of the Athletic Association of the Parish. He also volunteers his time as a treasurer for local athletic and religious organizations.

During his professional career, he has continually been active with the St. Louis Chapter of MSCPA and has served in various capacities on not-for-profit boards.

Michael P Croghan, CPA

Michael Croghan, CPA, graduated from the University of St. Thomas in 1982 and began his career working for Croghan & Croghan shortly thereafter. Mike has been the recipient of many prestigious awards including, CPA of the year in 2002 by the Missouri Society of Certified Public Accountants (MSCPA). He was recognized for his exceptional contribution to the profession and the community.

Mike is a member of both the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) and the Missouri Society of Certified Public Accountants (MSCPA).

Mike is committed in many community and civic organizations including, the Kirkwood Des Peres Area Chamber of Commerce, Kirkwood Rotary, Kirkwood Area Business Development Corp, The Franciscan Sisters of Our Lady of Perpetual Help, as well as the Affton Athletic Association.

Mike was named chairman of the Missouri Society of Certified Public Accountants (MSCPA). His one-year term spanned July 2010 to July 2011. Prior to his appointment as chair elect, Mike served in a number of MSCPA leadership positions, including president of the St. Louis Chapter in 2000-2001.

He has also been a member of the following MSCPA committees: Governmental, Finance, Investments, Audit, Nominating, and Strategic Planning. The MSCPA is the largest professional association dedicated to advancing CPAs in Missouri. Established in 1909, the MSCPA provides members with opportunities for continuing education and governmental advocacy, while working to further the future of the accounting profession through student-focused initiatives.

Cindy Croghan Backes, CPA
Partner

Cindy Croghan Backes, CPA, graduated from Webster University in 1987. She joined Croghan & Croghan in 1984. Cindy is a QuickBooks Certified Pro Advisor and specializes in set up, training, and maintaining QuickBooks. She is a member of both the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) and the Missouri Society of Certified Public Accountants (MSCPA).

Cindy is also a committed volunteer to various local organizations including the Boy Scouts of America.  She has also served as the President of the DeSmet Jesuit High School Mothers' Club and recently was co-chair of their annual auction.
